Uhm...Where am I?

Today marks a new beginning...a fresh start...a new blog. I've been bitten by the BLOG Bug and inspired by the youth that surround me so here I am world! As I venture into unknown territories I'm exhilarated. I love new adventures. I think this is why I'm so excited about the summer and preparing to work in a new school. I feel like the children full of wonder and anticipation. Yeah for my new Goshen Gator home! I intend to use this blog as a place to lift up that which is honorable, excellent and praiseworthy sooooo get ready to read a lot about the children in my class, my family, my husband and of course the fabulous activities that occur at Goshen Elementary and beyond.

As our Hamilton summer drifts along, I'll share "shocks of awareness" with you. Don't you like the latest educational lingo. It's not "aha's" anymore you teachers out there. Truly though this is something I'm looking for in my life and in others. What's new, what am I thinking and how are my day to day adventures changing me and helping me make progress towards reaching goals and helping others reach theirs too. To me, that's what makes my world go around. What about you?

One of the first "shocks of awareness" that occurred was when I attended a literacy leadership workshop at Lake Cumberland about a week ago. So many wonderful educators were there from across the state and I'm still pinching myself that I got to be there, to learn, to make new friends, and to grow in wisdom about our state's literacy initiatives. Hopefully these new goals will ensure ALL students achieve on a much greater scale. I think we can achieve worthwhile goals when we're prepared. Sometimes I don't always prepare like I should and therefore I don't move in the direction I want to go. Did I say move in the direction I want to go? It's true you know, no matter what, scientifically speaking, I am always in perpetual motion, life isn't meant to be static.
